Google Terminates Support for Chrome App Lines starting June 2020

Google announced the schedule for terminating support for Chrome applications on all platforms. Support for Chrome applications will end from June 2020.
Reporting from The Verge, Friday (1/17/2020), the Chrome application is a web-based application that can be installed on Chrome. The appearance and function are similar to applications on the desktop.
Some of the installed Chrome applications are likely to be redirected to the web like most other Google applications. Chrome extensions that are different from Chrome applications, will still function properly.
Google first announced plans to terminate support for Chrome applications on Windows, macOS, and Linux, in 2016. This is because only about one percent of platform users are actively using these services.
Regarding Google's decision, Windows, macOS, and Linux users must prepare because in the near future they will no longer be able to use Chrome applications.
End of Schedule Support
Google will stop supporting Chrome applications gradually. Here are the details:
- March 2020: Chrome Web Srore will stop accepting new Chrome Apps. Developers can still update existing Chrome applications until June 2022.
- June 2020: End of support for Chrome applications on Windows, Mac, and Linux. Users who have Chrome Enterprise and Chrome Education Upgrde will have access to extend support until December 2020.
- December 2020: End of support for Chrome applications on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
- June 2021: End of support for Google Native Client (NaCI), PNaCI, and PPAPI API.
- June 2021: End of support for Chrome applications on Chrome OS. Consumers who have Chrome Enterprise and Chrome Education Upgrade will have access to extend support until June 2022.
- June 2022: End of support for Chrome applications on Chrome OS for all consumers.
